Walking Festivals:

Millstreet Annual Spring Walking Festival confirmed its status as a walker's paradise with large numbers supporting the Festival held, 14 & 15th April 2012.
Magnificent landscapes and eyecatching scenery, blessed with glorious weather, added to the enjoyment of participants drawn from across the south west region.
This years event Co-ordinated by Millstreet Tidy Towns Association, offered a variety of walks for all levels, from more leisurely walkers to serious hill walkers.

Over the weekend walks took in Commeenatrush Lake, Clara Mountain, Gneeves, the Clydagh Traverse, Millstreet Country Park and Musheramore in the Boggeraghs.
Overall patrons gave valuable feedback for the next festival.

The Millstreet Autumn Walking festival was held on Saturday 24th Sept 2011. Weather on the day was more or less ideal for walking. There was great local and external interest and participation in the three walks listed below:

The O’Sullivan Beara March. “A” Walk (strenuous).
The Claragh Loop. “B” Walk (moderate).
The Mountleader Trail. “C” Walk (easy).
All walks were guided and €5.00 per person or €10.00 per family was charged on registration at base camp: The Wallis Arms Hotel.
The very genuine wholehearted positive response given by many of the participants of the Autumn walking festival was so encouraging that future such events can be envisaged and further enhanced. This event was organized by MDG, Tourism/Walking Committee in association with Millstreet Tidy Town.
